Career! (Dance and singing)
Blake McGrath has caught the attention of audiences around the world with his memorable and fiery jazz/contemporay performances. Although his education stopped at High School, that didn't stop his ambition to become a proffessional dancer. The multi talented McGrath was introduced to the world as a finalist during the premiere season of the well known series So You Think You Can Dance USA. His notoriety continued to grow when he appeared on Jennifer Lopez’s TV run, Dance Life. This Canadian-born superstar danced and worked alongside some of the biggest recording icons in the world including Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears,Madonna Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Mariah Carey. From center stage to the silver screen, his cinematic credits range from the Academy Award-winning film Chicago to the Pulitzer and Tony Award winning adaptation of the musical Rent. Blake’s star appeal has cast him in the commercial spotlight where he has appeared in ads for globally esteemed brands among Pepsi, Gap, Old Navy, Hummer and iPod. He also continued to move and inspire through his recent endeavours as a Judge and Choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance Canada. He said that he wanted his dance to be a vision and a piece of artwork for others to see. Along with that his co-owned company Coastal Dance Rage, facilitating the world’s largest dance conventions featuring world renowned Choreographers.
Not only has his dance career truly taken the dance industry by storm, but recently his singing talents have also been recognized. In early 2010 Blake signed on with industry powerhouse Universal Music. Since then he debuted his first 3 radio singles and video`s for "The Night", "Stage Fright" and "Relax" which truly displays Blake’s talent as a musician and his natural ability to dance. Later that year he had released his first album called Time to Move. Blake not only wanted his dance to mean something, he also wanted his songs to mean something too! He says, "I hope that my music puts people in a better place that it moves them towards better goals and puts them in a better position in life, something more positive that people can grasp on to and inspires them to get up to make the right choices feel free and anything positive and making people move forward in life, love, and happiness and then I've did my job."
